Hi Bradford, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand your frustration, and I'm here to help. There don't seem to be any known updates affecting the Power Options settings in the Control Panel. Is that the section you're looking at?

You can enable the Hibernate option by going to the Control Panel. Here are the steps:

    > Press Search, type "control panel," and select it from the results.

    > Select "System and Security."

    > In the Power Options section, select "Change what the power buttons do."

    > Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable."

    > Check the box next to "Hibernate" to enable it.

    > Click "Save changes."

When you follow these steps, do you see the option to enable Hibernate?

If not, could you attach a screenshot in your next response?

    John J.D.

Thanks to Martin for pointing out that Control Panel is not the same as Settings and thanks to Mohamed for the powercfg.exe /hibernate on command. These were the two things I needed to get hibernate enabled on my laptop.

hibernation is not useful when we use ppt.

if i keep the ppt open, and do hibernation, when i resume the system everything works properly, exept ppt.

if i continue my ppt in the opened ppt, it is not saving properly.

it allows only to save in some other location first. delete the previous file in its previous place. and than bring this back.

    it is frightening.
