If you had actually read the body of my post, you would have known I have tried several of these options already and none of them have worked.
The major issue is updates are already paused. I should not be getting Windows updates at all, however one still downloaded and installed itself overnight, rebooting my computer without my knowledge or permission. Even when I had specifically checked for a pending update, I saw none and was not prompted to reboot. Changing active hours does not work, because I am only given a maximum range of 18 active hours in the day, I cannot set it to 24/7, and again, this update happened while I was asleep, which I would obviously set as my inactive hours. I am not setting my inactive hours to during the day, because during the day, I am working.
- As I stated, I have already disabled Windows Update in services.msc multiple times, and it reenables itself automatically. "Windows Update Medic Service" does not exist on my computer.
- I have already used the methods in gpedit.msc that were available on my device. These also did absolutely nothing to stop my problem. Also, I do not have Windows Pro, Enterprise, or Education.
- I have already used regedit and created that key as well, and had done this before the most recent update installed. When I logged in again it was gone. I've added it again, but I have very little faith that it will do anything.
- As far as I am aware, using that command in the Command Prompt does the same thing as going into Services and disabling Windows Update (the service is named wuauserv)
- The "Reboot" task in UpdateOrchestrator does not exist on my computer at all. Nothing similar to what you said is in that folder.
