Maintenance that doesn't require a reboot

Hello all,
I have a single VM on Azure. I manually update the server monthly. When it reboots to install the updates, the service will not be available. Are there any suggestions you can give me to avoid downtime for my monthly maintenance?

Regards

I suggest you to run your service at least on 2 VM's to keep the service available during one VM maintenance.

Installing updates very important, If you are running Server 2019 Gen2 you can opt-out of a HOT PATCH option which reduces the reboot occurrences during the installation of patches.

Hi @ET , Thanks for posting your query here!

You can actually schedule a restart by referring to the document Manage device restarts after updates based on the downtime.

Kindly let us know if the above helps or you need further assistance on this issue.

    Thanks for the document.
Actually I am looking for a solution to reboot my server without needing a down time. Because this VM should be always available.
