"No internet, secured" but connected to internet on Windows 11.

I have ROG Zephyrus G14 (2021), Windows 11.

My laptop will not recognize any internet connection as "connected".

It instead shows "No internet, secured" or "No internet, open" depending on which network I'm connected to (private or public respectively).

I've tried this at my house, work, friend's house and other places.

I've tried this with my laptop's wifi adaptor, a USB-A wifi adaptor, and direct ethernet cable connection.

Nothing will make my laptop recognize the internet as connected.

I can use many parts of the internet anyway, like Internet browsers (I'm writing this question on my laptop, can watch YouTube and Netflix), Steam (I was able to download 15gb game at ~300mb/s on my home internet), etc.

What I can't do is log in to my account on the Microsoft Store app or get Windows updates because I'm not "connected" to the internet.

You can see in the picture I attached, that on my Settings app, I am "Not connected" but right under it says I'm connected to a private network with 5GHz and data usage of ~30gb. The "Get Help" page which replaced the troubleshooter says I'm connected. But on the last window, I can't log into MS Store app because I'm not connected.

I've read the following articles and tried EVERYTHING they say.

I don't know what to do anymore.

I do not have any VPN installed.

I even reset my computer as the last resort. I didn't work.

I've done all those steps before and didn't work.

I tried again anyway, and the problem is still there.

    Hello ,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

You can follow the steps below:

    1. Reset the network You can reset the network. Please run Command Prompt as an administrator ("Win" logo key + "Q", type "cmd", select "Run as administrator"), and type the following commands one by one.
       netsh int ip reset

       netsh winsock reset
       netsh winhttp reset proxy

       ipconfig /release

       ipconfig /renew

       ipconfig /flushdns

    2. You may Perform a clean boot (microsoft.com) to see if it is normal, this is a troubleshooting step. In this mode, we can further confirm whether it is caused by system problem or third-party software or personalized settings. So, please be patient. Disclaimer*: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.* These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.
    3. You can uninstall the wireless network adapter in Device Manager ("Win*" + "X" > "Device Manager" > "Network adapters", find* your wireless network adapter device*, then right click > "Uninstall device"*), then reboot to see if it works. The system will automatically search and install the driver suitable for your device generally. If it still does not work, you may go to the official website of your device manufacturer to download the corresponding model driver and install it manually. After the installation is completed, reboot and see if the device works properly.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

If the problem persists, you can in-place upgrade the system by the steps below.

    • Please rest assured that the in-place upgrade the system will theoretically not affect your data and applications (you need to choose to keep files and applications in the next steps), just update all the system files are the latest.
    • If you have important data, you may make additional backups to prevent accidental loss of your data. Also make sure there is enough free space in the system partition, at least 40GB.
    1. Download Windows 11 ISO file Visit Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) and click "Download Now" under “Create Windows 11 Installation Media” to download MCT (Media Creation Tool). Image Then run the program, select "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD or ISO file) for another PC”, and then choose Language, Version, Architecture (if you are not sure about these, choose "Use the recommended options for this PC"), then select "ISO file" in the "Select Media to Use" interface, and then a Windows ISO file will be downloaded to your disk (about 4-5GB in size, it is recommended that you choose a non-system disk).
    2. In-place upgrade the system After the download is completed, double-click the ISO file, double-click to run "setup.exe" in the open file explorer, and select "Change how Setup downloads updates" > "Not right now", accept the terms of the agreement, and select "Keep personal files and apps", then click "Next" > "Install". Then the system will reboot a few times, and then enter the welcome screen. Disclaimer*: Let’s try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides:How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft Community***
