Still no resolution as of 2/2/2024

Microsoft sure is taking its time fixing their server problem....

I am also facing the same issue of "Metadata Staging Failed" 131 event IDs since Dec 2023. There's also one more thread going on with many users reporting the issue. All of them, including me, have reported the problem of machine freeze multiple times a day and had restart is the only way out. Microsoft is surprisingly sitting silently and no statement/information has come out yet.

I tried going to that bug report to upvote it, but it says I don't have permission/access to view it. How do I get access?

    Hi JenVanderputten:

The following assumes you have the Feedback Hub app (which came bundled with my Win 10 OS) installed on your computer at Settings | Apps | Apps & Features. If you don't have the Feedback Hub app installed it's available on the Microsoft Store.

When I browse to Don T's bug report at https://aka.ms/AAo1su9 in my default Firefox browser I see a pop-up asking me to click Open Link to launch my Feedback Hub app and automatically open the correct bug report. I don't know if it's relevant but when I boot up my computer I normally log in with a Microsoft account.

Instead of using my browser I can also launch the Feedback Hub app directly from the Start button on my task bar ...

... and if I search for "multiple Event ID error 131" on the Home tab of the Feedback Hub then Don T's bug report titled "Getting multiple Event ID error 131 Device Set-up Manager" (currently with 49 upvotes) is the first bug report listed in the search results. If you simply search for "Event ID 131" you'll find that multiple users have created bug reports for this same Event ID 131 error so an upvote for any of those bug reports should help to get Microsoft's attention.

We already have that disabled via GPO ...

    Hi Paul Townsend1:

Did you try the the suggested workaround exactly as described and change Settings | System | About | Advanced System Settings | Hardware tab | Device Installation Settings | "Do you want to automatically download manufacturers' apps and custom icons available for your devices?" to "No (your device might not work as expected)" on the problem device?
