I'm experiencing an issue where suddenly my mic sensitivity is bad and I haven't done anything to my settings.  I can't even tap my mouse without it getting picked up.

there is no microphone boost and adjusting the levels only muffles me
the troubleshooter can't seem to find a problem with it

the latest drivers have already been installed. I even uninstalled them and reinstalled them

None of the fixes have worked

Hello there, I'm Gopal an Independent Advisor. I will try my best to help you.

I can see that you're having trouble with your microphone being too sensitive. Have you made any recent changes to your computer or microphone settings?

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Adjust the Microphone Volume and Boost

Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds."

    Switch to the "Recording" tab.

Locate your microphone and double-click it to open its properties.

Adjust the "Levels" tab, and check the "Microphone" and "Microphone Boost" sliders and see if that helps.

    • Run the troubleshooter

Press the Windows + I to open the Settings.

Select Update and Security> Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters > Playing audio and follow the instructions to troubleshoot the issue.

    • Update the driver

Press the Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.

Expand the "Audio inputs and outputs" category.

Right-click your microphone and select "Update driver."

Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

Windows will scan for and install the latest drivers.

I hope this will help you to sort out the issue. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you!

    Regards

    Gopal

Sorry to hear that, please try with an external microphone such as headphones, and check if the issue persists
