installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable Package

Dear Community,

I have a laptop, running Windows 10 operating system. I have the Firefox browser installed.

Would like to ask the community a very specific question, please? I am currently on a course of Ethical Hacking, and have been asked by the tutor to download the VirtualBox software. I go to the VirtualBox website. I then go to the Download link, and click on Windows hosts. However, when I click on the download, I get an error message. Get ready for a bit of a long message.

VirtualBox cannot be installed because you do not have Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable Package. Please download it before installing VirtualBox.

Does anybody know how to install this piece of software, please? Would be eternally grateful for any answers,

Marek

Please try to download and install both x86 and x64 versions of the multi-installer Visual C++ 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022 redistributable. Restart your PC after the installation. Note: Don't install the ARM64

I downloaded the version for x86. I then downloaded the version for x64.

I then went to the Virtual Box website (https://www.virtualbox.org) and downloaded the Windows hosts.

After downloading the two installers, did you run them?

Thank you for updating me with that information. I apologize that this did not resolve the issue.

Please try uninstalling the 32-bit version

Press Start then search Apps and features

Find Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) in the list

    Click Uninstall

    Restart your computer

Please check if the issue persists.

    Dear John Dev,

Sadly, the error message is still there.

I will describe what I did.

I clicked on the link you gave me. I then when to the top line, about the version for 2015,2017, 2019 and 2022. I downloaded the version for x86. I then downloaded the version for x64.

I then went to the Virtual Box website (https://www.virtualbox.org) and downloaded the Windows hosts.

I thought the software would then run, but it keeps giving me the same error message as before.

Can you suggest what I may be doing wrong here?

    Marek

    Dear John Dev,

Clicked on Start, then looked in Apps. There was no app called Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86),
