Why can't you guys just fix your update process I've had all these dumb errors since as far back as Windows XP. I'm not typing in a bunch of stupid commands just cuz you guys don't have your **** together.

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Please try the following.

1. Run Troubleshooter

Open Settings => System => Troubleshoot => Other troubleshooters => Windows Update => Run.

2. Use Command Prompt commands.

=> Open Command prompt as Administrator.

=> Type/copy the commands below , enter 1 by 1.

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

=> Close the Command Prompt and restart your computer then try to update again.

3. Use System File Checker to check and fix corrupted system files which may be the cause of the issue. Please refer to the link.

After that try to update again.

4. Manually download and install the update.

I Have facing and error while installing the update (Install Error -0x800f081f).

I have the same error and can't do the Inplace Upgrade because there are only two English language settings in the drop-down menu - US and International. I have English (United Kingdom). If I try to use the US version, I cannot save my files and apps - only files.

Surely there must be a better fix for this 0x800f081f error?
