Hi,

My Windows 10 desktop PC has been failing to install the following windows update:

2023-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030211)

The error I get is:

There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800f0922)

I have tried all the suggestions in this article: https://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/how-to-fix-a-windows-update-error-0x800f0922/#:~:text=One%20reason%20Windows%20displays%20an,making%20space%20on%20your%20disk.

I have also tried uninstalling my 3rd party antivirus software (BitDefender) and disabling windows firewall during the update.

Nothing I have tried has helped and I'm still getting the same error.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Please open services.msc and set "App Readiness" to "Manual". Click Start to start it manually.

(Ref: Step 1 here WU Error 0x800F0922 in Windows 10/11.)

Attempt to install the update(s) now.

I have had this same error message for a number of months now.

The Updates are downloaded, installed then the update takes place but does not succeed and the system reverts the change.

This takes quite a lot of time each time it does it and is becoming annoying

I checked services.msc and App Readiness was already set to manual and running.

I have also deployed SFC and DISM scans.

I have over 500mb disk space available

My anti-virus is up to date and does not report any errors (Rogue killer).

    My internet connection works!

Surely there must be a simple fix for this as I am certainly not the only person with this same problem going by all the 'hits' I get when I search for a solution.

I would have hoped that Microsof would have provided a resolution to their own update rather than people have to troubleshoot themselves

    Thank you in anticipation
