I installed KB5030310 update and Copilot is not showing

I have installed the update that became available today called "2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310)" and this did not give me the Microsoft Copilot function. Nothing happens when pressing WIN-C and I can't find settings for this function anywhere.

So what I did is join the Windows Insider Program (Dev channel) and got the latest update so I'm now running Windows 11 version 23H OS build 22631.2361 and I still don't see Windows Copilot function. Am I missing something?

Open the Windows Run box with push the Windows and R button on same time.

    And then run this command:

    microsoft-edge://?ux=copilot&tcp=1&source=taskbar

I had the same problem and this actually helped.

    Thanks a lot!

Edit: It does turn the copilot on. But it's still missing from the settings. So you need to use the command every time.

That opens Microsoft Edge, I can use Bing in that browser but this is not the integrated Windows Copilot I am looking for. But thanks!

That's very unfortunate because I live in The Netherlands.

    Hello Daniel, this is Emily.

What country/region are you in? The Copilot is only in limited areas. This is the fine print from the announcements:

    For today's KB update: https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/202...

    For 23H2 Insider Preview: https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2023/...

** Copilot in Windows will start to release in preview to select global markets as part of our latest update to Windows 11. The initial markets for the Copilot in Windows preview include North America and parts of Asia and South America. It is our intention to add additional markets over time.

I am in the US and have the same problem(no KB5030310 features work) on 2 of my 6 Windows 11 desktops.

My guess is this is happening because I noticed during the update that more then one update was installed

simultaneously. Bottom line: I cannot make Pilot of any of the KB5030310 work even though it says it's installed.

All of my Lenovo desktops are identical.

On one that failed(1), these updates were installed at the same time as KB5030310:

    KB5031217

    KB4023057

    KB5030509

    KBB2667602

On one other(2) that failed, these updates were installed at the same time as KB5030310:

    KB5031217

    KB5030219

On one 4 that worked, only KB5030310 was installed
