Windows 11 registry cleaner?

Hello. I just wanted to ask , is there is any tool or a setting within Windows 11 that lets you clean the junk in registry (Things that are left after uninstalling a game or anything else)? I often find old junk from games I have played a while ago in registry that hasn't been removed for some reason so I have to do it manually myself. I've heard that cleaning registry can impact the performance (In a positive way) , but from what I can see , we lack the tool/setting that allows us to clean the registry easily. Manually cleaning registry can be dangerous unless you know what you are doing.

    FYI,

while not like CCleaner, and other 3ed party offerings; Microsoft does in fact have the tools to do your own reg tidying up. It is not for unskilled windows users though, as you have to know the name(s) of either the application(s), their company handle (ie: Blue Herring...), or internal handle. These can be found, of course, by reading installation logs, installer files, and some common logic.

If you need these tools they are part of MS Power Toy's found vis below link.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/registry-preview This link is related to just one of the set of tools, but gives back links to Power Toys, and to the various info needed to get and install them.

!!! Again, this is for experienced users, who know to back up registry prior to dabbling in the registry in any manner !!!

JB..... DevOPS, Poweruser, Programmer, and been with windows since its initial public offering.

    Hi Aikawaii,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

I am afraid that there is no built-in registry cleaner for Windows 11 and Registry cleaners don't speed up your PC. The best way to clean up junk files is using Disk Cleanup:

Why Using a Registry Cleaner Won't Speed Up Your PC or Fix Crashes:

You can use these tips to improve your computer performance:

Also, using third-party registry cleaning tools is never recommended and none of them are safe.

Please let me know if you need further assistance and keep me updated.

    Stay safe

Hi there, Thanks for the reply, that's exactly what has happened to me! The slight difference was I had an engineer come out to take a look and he couldn't work out what it had happened, but like you he thought I'd tried running a cleaning programme, cut of course I hadn't

Surely reducing the size of the Registry can have some positive effect on speed, however negligible.
