Authenticator app not syncing to ipad

I use Microsoft Authenticator app on my Samsung phone, and it works perfectly. I have also installed it on my iPad Pro but not matter what I try, it doesn’t sync to the iPad.
Sync is on on the Samsung but when I select sync on the iPad it seems to want to overwrite what is already there.
Logged into the same account on both devices.
