Issues with Brother Full Driver & Software Package Installation on Windows 11

Dear Sir/Madam,

I recently purchased a new computer and have encountered difficulties when attempting to install the Brother Full Driver & Software Package. When I initiate the installation, nothing transpires; the installation program doesn't launch. I've tried manually initiating both "start.exe" and "InstUI.exe" and even opted to "Run as Administrator," yet still no response or activation of the installation process.

To troubleshoot, I followed the steps to boot the PC in Clean Boot mode, as outlined in a previous thread on your forum, but regrettably, this didn't offer a solution. Since the initial installation attempt, I've consistently updated Windows 11 and am currently operating on 22H2, OS build 22621.2283. Despite these updates, the Brother software remains unresponsive and refuses to run.

I'm reaching out to ascertain if there have been any identified solutions or fixes for this particular issue. I assume that I'm not the sole user experiencing these challenges.

Try the following utility from Microsoft which should still work and work on Windows 11:

If the problem persists can you provide the following information which may help determine any issue(s) (eg with Windows Installer):

Windows Key + R > type eventvwr in the "Open" box > OK > expand "Custom Views" and then right-click "Administrative Events" > select "Save all events in Custom View As" and save as an .evtx file

Then make the resulting .evtx file available via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site.

I have Win11 version 22H2, and got my wireless-connected Brother MFC-495CW to work, using the old driver from Win 10, and by making some fixes in Brother Utilities. Initially I send a help request to Brother and they replied that Brother Utilities would not work with Win 11. They were wrong.

Here's what I did:

Open Brother Utilities->Control Center 3->Configuration->Scan->image.

Under Target Application, I added a jpeg viewer app (Irfanview64, i_view.exe, and the path to it) Added file type jpeg and voila, the system worked to scan and produce jpeg files, which Irfanview could view.

I also added Adobe Acrobat, and was able to scan and produce pdf files.

I tried to inform Brother of this directly, but their website doesn't seem to be working properly either.

Experiencing the same problem. Brother "Full Driver & Software Package" wont run. I have Win11 installed and using DCP-L3550CDW. For now only USB connection is working.

@Tomaz Lovsin took some time to resolve this issue. Did not manage to start "Full Driver & Software Package", but i found a kind of work around to enable to print wirelessly. First connect the printer to the network. Then in windows go under Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > click Add device. For me there was an option to find the device on the network. Windows then automatically found the device and i am now able to print. Hope it works for you to.

I too have the same problem. I run the install which places the compressed files into a selected folder. I go into the USA folder and click on DPInst but nothing happens. I tried running as administrator, but same thing. Something in Windows 11 is broken.
