All drivers are freshly installed and up to date. Graphics card is barely a year old and all cables also checked. The monitor thats not detected does work also.

Everything worked until 2days ago when windows updated and now windows does not detect the second display.

Please help thank you.

Hello ScrP, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

I understand that after an update the second monitor is not detected;

What exactly is the model and manufacturer of your graphics card?

Are you using an HDMI cable to connect the second monitor?

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

Before answering the question, I suggest you try to force the detection of the second monitor;

Press Windows key + i and go to System;

Click Display;

Scroll down to Multiple screens, click Detect;

Then press the keys together: Windows key + P and select the Extend option;

Verify that the second monitor is detected;

See you soon!

    I followed the instructions, but it does not stay on extend. I click extend, but nothing happens. I clicked Detect again and it is still not able to find another display, hit windows and P again and its back on PC screen only.

    Same boat here... I literally just unplugged my computer to move it to another room and now it won't detect either of my 2nd monitors (I've tried two).

    When I try to detect a new monitor nothing happens. I managed to force find it but it won't work and I'm stuck with this and no idea how to fix the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter (No ACPI Support) issue. I updated my graphics drivers and windows is up to date.

    Last nights update took out my two monitor ports and cant get my intel-based think-pad to detect them anymore. tried turning off an plugging them in on reboot as well as adding them after reboot. checked driver and have most up to date one. any other ideas? I assume last night's update affected many ppl this way this morning.

    Thanks
