    Dear G7Y0,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your question about disabling Remote Access Connection Manager (RASMAN), Remote Desktop Configuration, and Remote Desktop Services on your Windows system. I understand that you do not use Virtual Private Network (VPN) or Dial-Up and would like to disable these features.

To completely disable Remote Access Connection Manager, Remote Desktop Configuration, and Remote Desktop Services, follow these steps.

Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.

Type "services.msc" (without quotes) in the Run dialog box and press Enter. This will open the Services window.

In the Services window, scroll down and locate the following services:

    Remote Access Connection Manager

    Remote Desktop Configuration

    Remote Desktop Services

For each of these services, right-click on the service name and select "Properties" from the context menu.

In the Properties window, under the "General" tab, find the "Startup type" section and set it to "Disabled."

Click on the "Stop" button if the services are currently running.

Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save the changes.

By disabling these services, you will effectively prevent Remote Access Connection Manager, Remote Desktop Configuration, and Remote Desktop Services from running on your system. Please note that disabling these services may limit or prevent certain remote access capabilities.

If you ever decide to enable these services in the future, you can follow the same steps and set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" or "Manual" for each service.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to ask.

    Best regards,

    Mazen Gohar.

Mario, great job getting straight to the point with disabling this feature instead of a whole monologue like most of the replies I read. What I don't understand is WHY SO MANY REMOTE PROCESSES are hidden in Windows OS? Even after I have numerously disabled REMOTE features in various places I find this specific one still actively running on my PC which is completely BS and unacceptable.

I'll add the fact this service is connected to Ancillary Function Driver which had or still has a flaw making your PC vulnerable to attackers. When a user disables REMOTE ACCESS from advanced options or even deleting the app. It should do exactly that DISABLE REMOTE FEATURES. Also HOME EDITION states REMOTE ACCESS is not even an option so I am baffled by Microsoft's sneaky BS tactics to essentially monitor and control their users activity and production that they obviously can't function as a relative business without (Steve jobs never hid in a trashcan spying on Mac users to create the IPOD)

MORAL of the story is REMOTE ACCESS FEATURES only heighten your chances of A REMOTE ATTACKER ACCESSING YOUR PC. A locked door isn't as secure as NO DOOR.
