You did mention that the files are on an HDD, correct? Is it an internal or an external HDD?

I recently formattd my pc i had an ssd which i completely removed everything from it and i had a hdd which i used it for storage for videos games etc....
when i tried opening the content on it again after formatting it an error pops up :
*Error: "We can’t access the file for this item. If it’s being downloaded or has just finished being downloaded, try again soon. Otherwise, make sure that another app isn’t using the file and that you can access the place where the file is stored." i looked everywhere on youtube and did the give permission on security to everyone and to the owner but still got the same problem i really need the files on it.

2023-04-18T06:12:05+00:00 yes i did i think i found an issue that could be causing the problem there is a lock on the folder and its content and when i try to decrypt it through Properties" then "Advanced" on the "General" tab and then unchecking "Encrypt contents to secure data" in the next window this error pops up :

thanks for replying to my problem i mentionned that i already tried the steps unfortunately it didn't work too i gave full control to my user but it didn't work i guess the problem is not with the security tab.
