Windows 11 network shows "connected no internet access" but I am online, can connect to most websites, but some win apps think I'm offline and do not work

Over the past few days my win 11 PC network connection started showing connected but no internet access status. I can get online and access most websites, but some windows apps like Spotify thinks I am offline and will not work. I think this may have happened after the most recent Win update. Have run network troubleshooter and rebooted my modem with no effect. See several references to this issue in Win 10 but nothing for Win 11., Very frustrating and would love to hear some possible fixes from the community.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, just to confirm when you open your browser, is the internet working? or not at all? in addition, have you tried different devices with the same network if it's working fine?

While waiting for your response, please do the following basic troubleshooting steps:

This problem actually occurs when there is a problem with your internet configuration and driver, kindly follow the steps below and I hope this helps.

Note: Make sure to do it on the affected user

First what we will do is enable WWAN and WLAN services, these services are essential to run the Wireless and wired connection perfectly.

    • Open Services (Press Windows key + R then type in services.msc then click OK)

-Look for WLAN Autoconfig and WWAN Autoconfig> Right-Click Properties and set it to automatic (If it's already set to automatic, right-click then click stop then start it again)

    -Restart the PC and check

If the issue persists, run the following command in Command Prompt (Admin). Follow the steps below to do so.

These sets of commands will reset the internet connection and re-calibrate the internet settings you have.

    Press Windows Key + X.

Click on the Command prompt (Admin).

Type the following commands, and hit Enter after each command:

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

If the same issue follows the methods below:

    Method 1. Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

That did not work unfortunately. To clarify, there are two issues at play, both likely related. 1) My PC network connection is showing as connected to my home network but not connected to the internet, however I can actually access the Internet as I am online accessing websites such as this forum from the same PC. 2) Some apps like Spotify think my PC is offline and will not let me access any content. Guessing it needs more than just reset the MS store cache as after I reset it the store still thinks I am offline also - see attached.

Thanks for the quick suggestion. To clarify, are you suggesting clearing my browser cache or my computers cache?
