Problem with Unicode Typing

Hello,

I recently installed Windows 11 on my PC. I installed a software called "Avro" which allows me to write in my native language, Bangla. It is a free Unicode and ANSI compliant Bengali keyboard interface for Windows. The problem is that when I try to write something in Bangla, it types the wrong letter. Suppose I want to write "আমার সোনার বাংলা" , it types "।/১২ ৩৳৫৬৭ ৮৯০-=ক" which is totally irrelevant. I am facing the issue only in my browser (Edge, Chrome) and not in other Windows programs like Notepad, MS Word, Excel, etc.

I tried changing my browser's font to any Unicode font, but it didn't work. My default keyboard layout is English (United States). I also tried changing my keyboard layout but faced the same issue. I am using Windows 11 on my laptop too, but I didn't face this issue. I tried to copy all the keyboard layout, font settings, and language settings from the laptop, but it didn't work. I used many similar programs for Bangla typing, including "Bijoy" keyboard, which is also a popular Bangla typing software, and faced the same issue.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

    This was helpful brother.

    Hi,

For me as well, disabling ESET's keyboard protection fixed the issue.

ESET -> Advanced Settings -> Banking & Payment Protection -> Keyboard Protection -> Disable the toggle button.

The issue you're facing with Avro keyboard in your browsers may be related to the way the browser interprets keyboard input or interacts with input methods. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

    1. Check Browser Settings:
      • Make sure your browser's default language and input settings are correctly set to Bengali or the language you want to type in.
      • In Google Chrome, for example, you can go to Settings > Advanced > Languages > Language and ensure that Bengali (or your preferred language) is added and set as the default.
    2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:
      • Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause unexpected issues. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies to see if that resolves the problem.
    3. Disable Browser Extensions:
      • Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with keyboard input. Temporarily disable any extensions you have installed in your browser to see if any of them are causing the issue.
    4. Check for Software Conflicts:
      • Some software or third-party keyboard input methods can conflict with browser input. Make sure there are no other keyboard input methods running in the background while you're using Avro.
    5. Use Different Browsers:
      • Test if the issue occurs in different browsers (e.g., Firefox, Edge) to see if it's specific to one browser or a system-wide problem.
    6. Update Browser and Avro Keyboard:
      • Ensure that both your browser and Avro Keyboard are up to date with the latest versions. Outdated software can sometimes lead to compatibility issues.
    7. Check Language and Region Settings:
      • In your computer's settings, go to Language & Region settings and ensure that your system's language and region settings match your requirements.
    8. Browser Language Settings:
      • In some browsers, you can go to advanced settings and select "Offer to translate pages in this language" if it's available. This may help the browser recognize the language correctly.
    9. Test in Incognito/Private Mode:
      • Open a new incognito/private browsing window and see if the issue persists. This can help determine if any extensions or settings are causing the problem.
    10. Reinstall Avro Keyboard:
      • As a last resort, you may want to uninstall Avro Keyboard and then reinstall it. This can sometimes resolve issues related to keyboard input.

If the issue still persists after trying these steps, you might consider reaching out to the Avro Keyboard support or the browser's support community for more specific assistance. It's possible that there could be a specific configuration or compatibility issue that requires a more specialized solution.
