After an authorized service repair, BitLocker asking for a recovery key on every restart of the system.

I have the key but I tired of entering it every time.

How to bypass that?

Lenovo is saying that this is nothing to do with them and a Windows issue.

I see people suggesting to disable the feature here, but I don't have such option on the page

Start > Settings > Update & Security > Device encryption > select Turn Off

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Recovery and backup

"1. Press Windows, type Manage BitLocker;"

You do realize that typing this just returns Bing search results, yes? It doesn't actually show any settings?

I even went to Privacy & Security in settings, and there is nothing in there to manage BitLocker, either.

However, if you go to Settings, and type "BitLocker" there, you will get "Device encryption." Form there, you can turn off BitLocker encryption.

And I'm not an independent advisor, I'm just a person who actually looks at the screen when figuring this out.

    EVERYBODY has to understand - THERE IS NO bitlocker drive encryption tab. Nothing! Nada! on this version on Win11. It encrypted all of my drives and I do not need this ****. Have to do it thru the powershell and that's a hassle. Total BS. Why is microsoft getting worse and worse with every version? Give me back NT!!! I will update how it's done if i'm successful.

    added: here's what I've found so far. Minimize all the apps and programs. On your desktop screen right click and go to Personalize ( right under display settings). In the opened window on the left side go to Privacy & Security. After you click on it go to Device Encryption on the right side and click it. You will see Device Encryption and On-Off in front of it. Put it to OFF. The device will start Decrypting. It might take 30+ min depending on the size of your drive and if it's SSD or HDD. Done. I found it by total accident while I was lookin to change sleeping mode, which I usually do thru the Desktop-Personalize.
    And before that I followed this guy's instructions on youtube, also worked, actually I started the process on one of my drives with this instruction, which is 4TB HDD and it's gonna take probably a day, but with the above method I did the SSD one, it only had 300GB of data and was done in about 15 min: https://youtu.be/r2gqL0Fa-ok?si=YQ_mQsCr4WvwAwY8

    Hello Sasha, how are you?

    I understand that you would like to remove BitLocker from your drive.

    You can access Windows Bitlocker Manager and with the key, disable it.

    1. Press Windows, type Manage BitLocker;
    2. It will appear in the search, click on it to open it;
    3. It will show your computer's disks and which encryption is enabled;
    4. Click Disable BitLocker on the desired disk;
    5. Proceed to the end to finish.

    Check if after restarting you are still asked for the key please.
