Hi
Sorry, I think I have mislead you. I hadn’t got around to removing the updates. When I opened Edge the prompt for sign in came up. I have been getting a reminder after restarts to reenter my sign in information. Is this a new thing?

Hi
I am having problems with both Edge and Chrome when trying to access a website.
I keep getting an error message. Unable to open the webpage, firewall or proxy problem.
Is it something that is inherent in the system.
This appears to have happened in the last two weeks, everything was working fine before.
I have tried adding the affected sites to “allow them to be accessed” but they are still rejected.

So far it looks like the issue was from a bad update. Since the updates were removed manually they will be redownloaded correctly this time and the issue should not repeat itself.
Hi
I have just switched on my Laptop to try the solution you suggested, remove updates. When it booted up, I was asked to sign in to my microsoft account. Then sign in to sync, when I tried Edge and entered a web search all seemed to work.
This is similar to last week, when the problem first materialised, after two days it started to work again, although it did not ask for the account sign in.
Have you any further ideas as to why?
I guess I will have to hope that it is a blip and it stays clear of the problem.
Thanks for your advice and help!
Brian
No worries Brian. Please let me know the results.
Ok! Thanks. I’ll try that tomorrow.
