Dear Support

I have a Server Exchange 2013 SP1 have 2000 user mailboxes. Each mailbox has an average capacity of 5G
I plan to install new Server the same version Exchange 2013.
My question:
1/ Help Tools suggest or third party the best practices for Tools migrate multiple email accounts Exchange 2013 to 2013. (I find the available powershell command with exchange a bit slow)
2/ How migration minimizes downtime and in the process of moving email to another server, will the email be interrupted?

Thanks so much
NVP

    Hi @Phuong Nguyen ,

    Good day.

Basically migrate so many mailboxes with a big capacity could take a few days or weeks.
Yes some third-party software could also do the migration but as I never use them, I could not introduce you the features or how it works, and also, which is better for such a big migration plan.
And there are some methods to accelerate the speed of migration, you can refer to: https://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0001327
Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

For the second question, I think the only way to minimize the downtime should be speed up the migration process, and it is based on your hardware deployment. And as I said, for such a big project, it is predictable that it may takes above one week or more.
The mailboxes are migrated one by one, so the mailbox in migrating is disabled but after it, it could be back as usual.

    Best regards,
    Lou
