Turning off Exclusive Mode in Windows 10 Home Edition

Question

How do I turn it off so I can use my audio driver with more than one program at a time? I've looked at articles online, but they all show screenshots of control panels, i.e. "Line Properties", that I do not have on my system. Thanks.

To disable exclusive mode in Windows 10.

Right-click on the sound icon on the taskbar

Click Playback Devices

Double-click on your current playback device (headphones)

Hover over the Advanced tab.

In the Exclusive mode section, uncheck Let apps take exclusive control of this device.

Now click Apply and OK to save the changes.

Here is another way to do it.

1.- In the right side Menu bar, right click on the audio volume icon.

2.- Click on playback devices.

3.- The audio reproduction devices available on the computer will appear in green, which are almost always the computer's speakers and the headphone jack.

4.- Right click on the one that says Speakers / Headphones and click on properties.

5.- Go to the Advanced Options tab.

6.- In the block that says Exclusive Mode, you must disable the option that says Give priority to applications in exclusive mode.

7.- click on apply and accept.

8.- Repeat the same procedure for the other available devices and click on accept.

9.- Restart the equipment and test the audio playback.

Should work fine
