    Hi Bolin,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. This could be caused by Corrupted Windows registry or system files or Corrupted or known graphics driver issue. Give these steps a try to troubleshoot the issue.

Run the System File Checker tool

    1. Press Windows key + S
    2. Type cmd, run command prompt as administrator
    3. on command prompt type this and press enter: sfc /scannow
    4. Wait for the process to finish

Corrupted or known graphics driver issue

Depending on the state of the system, the graphics driver could get corrupted during installation or conflict with an existing version. Also, specific graphics driver versions may have known issues with certain applications causing TDR errors.

These graphics driver issues can be resolved by following the steps below:

    1. Perform a clean removal of the AMD graphics driver using the AMD Cleanup Utility.
    2. Check the release notes of the latest compatible graphics driver version to see if your specific TDR error is documented.
    3. If the TDR error is not documented as a known issue or listed as a fixed issue, proceed with installing the graphics driver.
    4. If a workaround fix is not available, install an earlier graphics driver version where the issue was not experienced.

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!

    Hi Bolin,

I am sorry to hear that. Try DDU again. If you have a desktop computer and you are comfortable on doing this, reseat the graphics card.

Then download the graphics drivers again, but use custom installation and do not install the utility software that comes with it. If the newest driver still gives the error. Try a few older versions of the graphics driver and observe which is stable.

    Hi JhakeSong,

I ran the system file checker tool and it said "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations"

I clean reinstalled my GPU drivers using AMD Cleanup utility and I've had no problems since then. If my PC starts to act up again I'll inform you.

    Thanks for your help!

It seems like no matter how many times I clean reinstall my GPU drivers, I still get problems. Does this mean that I have a faulty graphics card? If so, I'll be buying an Nvidia GPU because apparently they have much more stable drivers with a lot less issues.
