Minecraft Realms says ' you need permission' but I already have all the permissions

I am using minecraft bedrock on my laptop ( with windows 10) trying to play realms/realms plus. Everytime I try to get realms plus it says:

I have all the permission set correctly as suggested by the link aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp. It doesn't work. I even tried normal realms but it doesn't work either. I am at a loss on what to do. I have reset my laptop. Logged in logged out. I am also the administrator. But my account is a child account but I have double checked the settings and they are all correct. I don't have xbox gold live but I read that doesn't matter apparently as only xbox players need that to play realms.  Also I am updated completely. I can play with friends and such, just not create a server or realm. The servers tab works fine.  I just can't do anything to do with realms.

    Hello LizzieMcBride, how are you?

I am an independent consultant and user like you!

    I'm happy to help you!

You need to release an option in your Microsoft account settings.

    Follow the steps below:

    > Close Minecraft if it is open

    > Access the website https://account.xbox.com/en-us/Settings

    > Sign in with your Microsoft account

    > In the left side menu, click on "Online privacy and security"

    > Now click on "Xbox One / Windows 10 Online Security"

    > Mark the options below (or as many as you like) as "Allow"

    • You can play with people outside Xbox Live
    • You can participate in multiplayer games

    > Click Submit

If you still have a problem I hope your answer!

    Hi RafaelTrog.

I'm alright thanks, how are you?

    Thanks for your help.

So I followed all the steps but I'm at the part where you say 'in the left side menu, click on online privacy and security'.

I can't seem to find that. I put a screenshot below of what I can see, this is the link you sent. I clicked privacy and online safety. All that did was open another tab with this exact same page on it. Am I on the right track? Sorry about this. And thanks again!

Hello...I am having this problem as well.

Trying to join friends online and keep getting prompted with....

"You cannot play on Realms because of your Microsoft Account is set up. Please ensure your online safety settings allow Multiplayer and Clubs."

The link recommended for instructions to change these settings all point to a help page, the same noted by 'RafaelTrog' in this thread on January 20. The instructions show directions and links to which I am not seeing any option to change any settings. Rather I eventually end up arriving at the same help page.

There is also a lot of reference to an XBox console, which we have never had but I believe this account can or has an XBox account.

We had purchased the "https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/minecraft-for-windows-10-starter-collection/". I assume this is the Bedrock edition. I have no idea if this makes any difference.

I should note this account is not part of any family group as far as I can tell. But I did notice the birthdate used upon account creation is 2008.

Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Ive followed that same steps, they are all marked as allow and the account's birthday was set passed 18 years old and theres no family account and im still having "you need permission" problem. I have a realm on PC and have it setup so i can play with my younger brother on the ps4, both games are the same version and we have each other added.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I was waiting for my dad to log in and check but he never got the chance too. I checked realms just now to see if It might work and it did! I guess Microsoft was just taking a while to give the update or something. I haven't done anything new since so I don't know what changed.

    Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!!
