Failed - Network Issue: Error while downloading any file using any browser

Recently I have installed Windows 10 (64-bit) on my desktop from Windows 10 (32-bit) and I am facing a problem with downloading files on my browsers.

So, the update (or a clean install) was successful, and I started downloading 64-bit applications for my new version of Windows 10 OS.

My problem is that every time while downloading any file, my browsers download 2-10mbs of it before showing

"Failed - Network Issue" on Chrome and,

"Couldn't download: network Issue" on Microsoft Edge.

Moreover, if I click the resume button on any of them, it continues downloading 2-10mbs of the file before showing the same error again.

One more thing, my network is completely smooth and perfect as I can watch YouTube videos or any live streaming without any issue.

I tried many methods and gone through many forums (including this one), but nothing helped me.

Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi AnshMalviya,

I'm Louie, an Independent Advisor and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. Hope you're doing well and safe there. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your network connection.

I would suggest first you to run network troubleshooter, use these steps:

    Open Settings.

    Click on Update & Security.

    Click on Troubleshoot.

Under the "Recommended troubleshooting" section, click the Additional troubleshooters option.

Under the "Get up and running" section, select the Internet Connections troubleshooter.

Quick note: On Windows 10 version 1909 and earlier, the option is available within the Troubleshoot page.

Click the Run the troubleshooter button.

Select the Troubleshoot my connection to the Internet option.

Select the Try these repairs as an administrator option (if applicable).

Continue with the on-screen directions (if applicable).

After you complete the steps, the troubleshooter will run and fix any connectivity issues.

In the case that the troubleshooter is unable to resolve the problem, you should try resetting the TCP/IP stack and clearing any DNS information on Windows 10.

To reset the network stack with Command Prompt, use these steps:

    1. Open Start.
    2. Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as administrator option.
    3. Type the following command to reset the component that handles network requests and press Enter:

    netsh winsock reset

    1. Type the following command to reset the internet protocol stack and press Enter:

    netsh int ip reset

    1. Type the following command to clear the current networking configuration and press Enter:

    ipconfig /release

    1. Type the following command to reconfigure the network settings and press Enter:

    ipconfig /renew

    1. Type the following command to clear the DNS information cached and press Enter:

    ipconfig /flushdns

    1. Restart your computer.

Once you complete the steps, launch the web browser and confirm the internet is working.

If the steps above still doesn't work, reset all the network adapters, use these steps:

    Open Settings.

    Click on Network & Internet.

    Click on Status.

Under the "Advanced network settings" section, click the Network reset option.

    Click the Reset now button.

    Click the Yes button.

After you complete the steps, the computer will restart automatically, and on reboot, you should now be able to connect to the internet.

The tool will reset all the network adapters installed on your computer to their factory defaults, which means that you'll need to re-enter the password to connect to a wireless network. Also, you'll need to reconfigure other networking software, such as VPN clients, if applicable.

I also would recommend you to follow the solutions provided on the links below and see if it works:

I tried everything listed in your reply, I even tried downloading new drivers but unfortunately, none of them actually helped me.

I just wanna recapitulate my problem once again:

→My Browsers are working properly until it comes to download something, they can open any website, I can watch any live stream or YouTube videos etc. Means there is not issue with my network.

→When I try to download a file, it can only download 2-10mbs of file before showing the error. Although, I can resume it at the moment to continue the download, however the error message comes again after downloading 2-10mbs of the file.

→In my opinion, the problem is in a Windows update (I don't know which one), since every browser is showing the same behavior.

Anyways, thanks for your reply and help!

The first link didn't helped me at all, but I've a doubt on second one, actually, I didn't downloaded that version as I thought it shows a version prior to my OS.

    I'm using Windows 10 OS built 19043.1081.

And for the first link, I even tried downloading "Brave Browser", initially it was giving an error that it can't download required files while installing but somehow I managed to install it and now, it is showing the same error "Couldn't download - Network Error".

Thus problem is frustrating me since despite I can download '.exe' files, '.zip' files etc, I can't download '.rar' files as it always 'RESTARTS' when I click the 'RESUME' button.

One more thing, I used a wired connection instead of WiFi, and everything worked, maybe it's my driver causing the problem. Can you help me out of this, (or how can I update my internet driver?)
