I can pair my Nintendo switch pro controller and it will be automatically setup by windows, however if I turn the controller off and on again, it doesn't reconnect. To reconnect, I have to remove the device and pair it again. How can I make the controller automatically connect without having to re-pair?

Hi Carlo, thanks for your reply!

I tried the steps you recommended. Running the Bluetooth troubleshooter results in the below. Note that I get this result every time I run the Bluetooth trouble shooter.

I set "Bluetooth Support Service" to automatic and attempted to update drivers for the Bluetooth device and the controller - both already had the best drivers installed.

I restarted my device and paired the controller again - it was working fine. I turned Bluetooth off and on again and tried to reconnect the already paired controller. The controller shows as "connected" while I try to reconnect by holding down a button, however I can see that the controller's LEDs are flashing as if it's still trying to connect. Once they stop flashing, the controller no longer shows as connected.

Note that other Bluetooth devices (eg headphones) that I have tried connecting automatically connect with no issues. I also tried connecting the switch pro controller to another PC, and found the same issue of not being able to reconnect.

The system model and manufacturer are "To Be Filled By O.E.M"

    Thanks for your help Carlo.

    Good Day AndyB_012,

If the issue persists, perform Repair Upgrade, it will repair and replace any corrupted system files.

Step 1: Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.

    Click “Download Tool Now”

    Step 2: Run MediaCreationTool.exe.

Step 3: Choose "Upgrade this PC now".

Step 4: Select "Keep personal files and apps".

    Step 5: Let it install

    Restart once done and check.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

    Hello again, Carlo TJ.

I followed your instructions but unfortunately, still no luck. The issue is the same as before. I'm wondering if it would be worth trying to use a third party software like betterJoyForCemu to emulate the Switch controller as an Xinput controller.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

    Kind regards,

    Andrew
