I tested on two ipads and an iphone and after you put in a 365 email account address, it does NOT prompt you for work or personal, it goes straight to create an account for me or create a new business organization. We have 25 users in the company using hosted exchange and 365 apps (word, excel etc). I verified this person's exchange info is correct and their teams admin is correct from the portal. It was working it is not any more. Again, no problem when I do the same on a windows PC, it prompts me if I want work or personal and then it gets me to their teams profile.
I called MS tech support and they say they only do limited teams support for iphones or ipads. We made sure the account email address was correct many times, we made sure they didn't have a personal account with the same address, we uninstalled teams on my device, we cleared the teams cache in settings, made sure there were no preregistered accounts.
Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Tested with a 2nd account - after 24 hours of clearing their personal account with the work email address by going to accounts.microsoft.com it resolved the issue - both times almost exactly a full 24 hours.

It was indeed resolved by changing the personal account email address and waiting 24 hours.

I did a test in my iphone device. Teams version is 3.8.0 Insider version 3.8.77.2021083705/62( general). When we opened Microsoft Teams, it did not prompt the “create an account for me or create a new business organization” window. After we print the email address and password, we can log in Teams client normally. Could you check if the version is the same as yours?

I just checked - every account in that tenant has that issue other than the global admin account. They all have either Business standard or basic but I tried with other accounts with basic like the global admin and they can't log in on my ipad either. Everyone uses teams on their PC so they all work in Windows. We only had one person who wanted it ion their ipad or iphone and they couldn't get it to work so we tried it on my ipad and have the same issue.

Teams 3.8.0 (literally downloaded and installed yesterday)
I have rebooted my ipad a few times - no help. Tested on another ipad - same issue. Tested on an iphone, same issue.
It just started working for the first person. It might be because yesterday I deleted their work email address on their personal account. I'll test with another.
