windows 10 no boot after update kb5003637 2021-06

hello , i have any pc with windows 10 x86 version 20h2 and 21h1, there are already three windows updates that on the x86 version blocks the pc at reboot. I also waited for the June kb (KB5003637), but the problem is not solved, the pc on reboot remains on the windows logo and does not continue . I also tried to install using USB created with media tools. the installation is successful, but at the reboot it stops at the logo. if I remove the KB it will work again

Mine is a little different in that it won't install. On reboot I get a blank screen (no BSOD just a blank screen with the mouse pointer). I force a shut down and it tells me it failed to install. Another failed update.

Same here. Lock screen looks OK but when login just a black screen with mouse cursor. I can bring up task manager which looks OK.
Ctl-shift-win B to graphic drivers does.nothing.

Use trouble shooting from boot menu nothing.
Used restore PC from boot menu but still exactly same with a black screen.

I had the same. I discovered it is caused by the DRAM overclock.
Setting back the DRAM to 2666mhz (it was 3200mhz) fixed the issue!
it is quite disappointing that the KB update does not allow to use the DRAM at its full speed...
I will uninstall it stright away and will bring back my DRAM @ 3200 mhz!

Same problem, after update of KB5003637 PC will not boot into windows, automatic repair is attempted but fails. Only option is to recover using a backup and postphone the updates for 7 days. Hopefully MS will find a solution soon.

First thought it was the SSD, so replaced the SSD with a new, one, did a restore, but did not fix the issue. Then it became clear the update is causing the failure.

I have the same problem. After KB5003637 I get a bsod. Repair fails and I have to use a recovery point. After WU activates itself again after 7 days the same thing happens. I did that procedure now for the 4th time. It just doesn't work on my pc it seems.

I have a Dell Optiplex 790 WIN10 working perfectly untill KB5004476 were installed. After installation im restarting the computer then blu screen. Window says stopcode INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE. Windows recommend to repair it self but it cant. Loops all the time same problem. The thing that worked for me was to run the restorepoint that was automaticly saved by windows before windows install this update. So now the computer is working again. Windows prompt for me that it will install this update again. But idont wont to do that. I have no overclocked computer this must be a Microsoft problem !

II agree, MS keeps advising using SFC and DISM, but I tried that a few times, does not solve the issue. So I would expect a stable solution by know.

My PC just hit this as I’d not used my PC for a few weeks…
…. it’s a windows 10 x64 version 20H2 using memory at 3200mhz - supported OC both by memory device and motherboard.

After it loaded KB5003637 at restart boot I got the BSOD with ‘page fault in non paged area’, this auto repeat booted a few times and then gave up.

I decided to chose the BSOD advanced option to restart in safe mode, not done that ever for Windows 10, to see what that would do. To my surprise it booted with the ‘failed to load updates’ message and proceeded to uninstall it. It then booted fine…

Unless I turn off updates it keeps loading this KB and ends up with the same BSOD…
… I might try @Moreno idea of setting back the memory and trying to update to H21H1 - as also mentioned to see if that’s a way out of this nightmare.

Question:
Is there still a way of me setting Windows to not load a specific KB Number Update?
… while I’ve seen reference to this, so we can wait for it to be fixed, the setup KB Update seems to have changed or been removed - anyone know how to still do this ?

I have a totally different problem. KB5003637 caused my task bar notification area (clock, batter, tray icons) to be corrupted and then disappear. I tried everything but the only thing that immediately fixed it was to uninstall KB5003637

Same problem here on all 3 of my machines. Had to uninstall the update on all of them to fix it.

also a problem here with KB5003637, update installs and after reboot fault page in nonpaged area.
Windows 10 21h1 x64 Ram 32 GB. automatic page file off, fast startup off. did SFC (System File Checker) or DISM to repair the corrupted system file no solution.
edit: Also run memtest and chkdsk /f/ /r no errors.
cloned the installation to hyper-v same results. uninstalled basically almost all programs with Bulk Crap Uninstaller (even norton,acronis cyber protect), problem still exist.
Makes only testing easier, with fast recovery to latest checkpoint before update in hyper-v.

Trying to fix the problem because i don't like a system which isn't up to date.

edit no malware detected by malwarebytes
edit: reset windows update, run troubleshooter windows update

Same here. Windows doesn't install KB5003637. Instead of booting it appears the bluescreen with fault page in nonpaged area. I had to disinstall the update. Afterwards window started again normally.

Did you OC the DRAM?
if yes, switch it back to the default values, and the system will boot.
quite disappointing, I know.

Can you check in the BIOS or using CPU-Z what is the speed in Mhz you DRAM is running at?

Unfortunately I have the same problem: BSOD with page fault in non paged area after the update installs.
In my case, after the update automatically rolls back, the user profiles are not loaded and only the unused admin account is loaded as new. I need system restore to recover the correct account information (files are not deleted so manual recovery would be possible but system restore much quicker). Perhaps the account problem is as I have multiple nonadmin accounts and only one admin, and I start the update from a nonadmin account. It doesn't recover by itself even after multiple reboots.

I tried several times, also after all the checks (chkdsk, SFC,dism). None found any errors. Also tried manual install from update catalog, no difference.
No overclock, core i7 3740qm, 8gb, switchable graphics with amd hd7970. Latest drivers installed afaik.

I was under the impression that in a case like this, Windows Update would suspend the failing update for 30 days. But this has happened to me 3 days in a row. I suspended the updates for 7 days for the moment.

I do have my ram clocked to 3000mhz which is what it spec'd for. I just used the XMP profile that came with it. I am not going to downclock to 2133. I'll just remove the update for now.

6 or 7 times this has happened tried a shutdown and update also just did update and restart, same result.

Similar for me too. 3 failed installs and each time it looks for problems, uninstalls and will no doubt try again.

Can you check in the BIOS or using CPU-Z what is the speed in Mhz you DRAM is running at?
This update does not like XMP at all or OC DRAM.
I had XMP activated and I switched it off. After that the PC was booting normally with DRAM at 2666 instead of the nominal 3200.
I know it is disappointing, but if you want to keep the update that's the way to go.
Today I will try to install over the kb5003637 the 21H1 to see if it fixes it...
