Can't reset forgotten password using net user <username> <password> even with admin access

Hi, I'm trying to solve a problem here,

My battery died so I had to remove it, so now I'm using my laptop without battery. Then I got the message after tried to login using PIN,

"This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns". I tried another sign in method using password, but the problem is I forgot my password.

So, I waited for 2 hours and be able to sign in using PIN, then I decided to remove the password using every possible method available online, including running cmd as administrator and executing the command net user Administrator *. I got this output.

Then I double checked from the Sign In options settings to remove the password, but to no luck, this happens.

It's like the password is still there and not removed, how on earth is this happening? I have admin privilege on local account and remember my PIN but not the password. How to solve this?

I tried launching netplwiz but the option Reset Password is greyed out.

This is like Microsoft took over my laptop 100% and locked my laptop, I cannot shutdown my laptop because then I have to wait 2 hours every time to sign in using PIN. Please help, thank you.

    Hi,

In Command Prompt window, type net user Username NewPassword and press the Enter key.

Note: In above Command, replace Username with your actual User Name and NewPass with the New Password that you want to use.

Once this Command is successfully executed, you will be able to login to your computer using New Password.

Tip: If you do not know the Name of your User Account, type net user in Command Prompt window and press the Enter key. This will list the Names of all User Accounts on your computer.

    Hope that works for you.

If that is not the case, please kindly attach a screen-shot of the issue so we could work towards resolving it.

    Regards,

    Lee

I have done what you said, and this is output screenshot.

I have set the password to 123456. Then I try removing the password using the new password, then this happens.

Can you find a solution for this?

What you have changed is the administrator account's password .

if you try to login in with the user name Administrator, the password would be 123456

use the administrator account to change the password for the account you forgot.

    or enter the following

    net user "Fathul Amin" 123456
