BSOD: UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION - no mini dump - clean installation

Hi all,

Previous posts:

I'm posting again because I've tried the previous solutions and there hasn't been a resolution, but the crashes have been isolated to just the "UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION" stopcode with the Windows 10 bluescreen (as opposed to the KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR older looking bluescreen). I finally decided to take a leap and reset my computer: clean install of windows with my old hard disk out of the picture, just the SSD being reset and reinstalled. I crashed after playing games for two hours. The only things I have downloaded are: Steam (and some games), Discord, Firefox, and a driver for Focusrite Control 3.0.

When the computer bluescreens, it gives the UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION stopcode, but will not create a dump file, it gets stuck at 0%. I suspect that it has to do with losing connection to the SSD, as when I reboot, I have to remove the sata to the SSD, boot off the hard disk, hot-swap the SSD sata after booting, then restart at which point it boots off my SSD.

I've attached my system logs here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AucwdutKvRwcnhId4e8wkU0nN8VE?e=MSHi5N

In the meantime, I'm running HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 2.0.0.0 for everything in my computer. Please let me know if there's some other tests I should run, some hardware I should try updating (I've already updated all the drivers and checked the BIOS), or if it's just time to bite the bullet and get a new computer.

Best,

Carl

If the software / driver are non essential then uninstall Focusrite.

Run the V2 log collector and post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

Download and install HP PC hardware diagnostics Windows: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp144001-144500/sp144027.exe

Run only component tests (most are interactive) (tests that were not run when HP UEFI hardware diagnostics was used)

Download and install one of these temperature monitoring software:

    a) Speccy: https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy

    b) HWMonitor: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

    c) https://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Further hardware tests pending the review of V2 and HP Windows test results.

Hi Paul, I've created a restore point, run driver verifier, and will use my computer as normal once I get back from vacation. I will be able to give you an update on next Sunday.

    Hi drear5,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern. ,

I recommend that you run Driver Verifier to find any misbehaving, corrupted, or outdated driver.

Follow the instructions from this article.

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5470-enable...

    Reminders:

=> Disable Driver Verifier after 48 hours or after receiving a BSOD.

=> Create a Restore Point before running Driver Verifier.

Share the minidump file once you receive a BSOD error.

    The prior threads were viewed.

The event viewer reports were / are consistent with malfunctioning hardware.

Often malfunctioning hardware is hard to detect.

Many hardware tests will display pass before hardware failure (false negative test results).

    The computer is a desktop.

Swap testing is typically required to identify malfunctioning components.

For working up malfunctioning hardware you can start with HP UEFI hardware diagnostics version 8.9.

    Download and install: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp143501-144000/sp143798.exe

Plan to run the HP UEFI hardware diagnostics overnight while sleeping.

Power on the computer and repetitively click F2 or F10.

Click system > extensive > loop until error > the next day if there have been two or more loops > click esc > take pictures > post images or share links into this thread displaying the tests performed with results > click component tests > test as needed > post images of the tests performed with results into this thread

If the HP UEFI hardware diagnostics is able to identify a hardware failure it will produce an failure code and message.

If the HP UEFI hardware diagnostics is not able to identify a hardware failure then stress testing can be performed.
