Removed account via netplwiz and I can't log in now

Hi, Microsoft.

Long story short, I tried to make my PC have no password so when I log on it wouldn't annoy me. And the method I used was a command (netplwiz) to delete all users from my PC and I checked off the box that said "all users must enter with a password." Or something along these lines.

The strange thing though is that as soon as I was done and restarted the PC it booted up normally but the login screen was asking for a password still.

I put the old password, it didn't work.

I left the password spot empty, nada.

I reset my account's password, nope.

I used the command prompt and it either said the file I was looking for isn't there or that it'd say that yes I made a new (no-password) account but it didn't even show a new password.

Sorry it's a bit long but I'd really appreciate the help.

Ali.

As I was reading this message I managed to actually reset the PC completely, though I just repeated the same resetting process.

So, many thanks for your attempts to help solve this but it seems like all that was required was just wiping EVERYTHING on my PC. Which infact is the steps from 1-5 but picking "remove all" instead of the other option.

boot in safemode with command prompt it logs in with administrator. enable administrator set it active and set a password home edition net user pro edition lusrmgr.msc . in iwndows 11 you need to have a password to unhide administrator and get it to sign screen. you can also set new password with net user also its possible to autologin a user in user folder with a password automaticly even if you have other users there in registery. i also always have 2 users so if i remove my device from microsoft i can use administrator add me back create other user etc kill task that is locking windows screen so i can change user.

    Hello, how are you?

Let me know if I understand correctly, in addition to unchecking the password requirement on the netplwiz screen, did you also delete the Windows users?

I suggest that first of all try to restore your computer to a date before this problem.

You may need to create an installation USB to accomplish this, but let's try that first.

At the login screen, hold down the SHIFT key and restart your computer to access the Windows recovery environment.

Restore the System to an earlier date:

Click Troubleshooting> Advanced Options> System Restore, choose a date and proceed with the restoration steps.

Wait for it to finish and check if the issue is resolved.

    Hi paloma,

I'm doing alright, thanks for asking.

System restore didn't help unfortunately. And I also tried a local reset however that didn't work out either. Any other suggestions?
