wbemprox.dll ERROR

When I launched a program, an error happened. It was said "C:\Windows\system32\wbem\wbemprox.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f." Now I cant open the program.

Moreover, I used sfc /scannow and it replied to me that "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline

repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag."

Before, I used cmd to disable DEP, but after test I dont think it is matter. I logged in a new microsoft account and clicked administrator in the login page by accident. After rebooting I changed it back to the original account. There's no error about this issue in event viewer.

Make sure you're connected to the internet. From Admin Command Prompt, run:

  • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

and then run:

  • sfc /scannow

If the error still occurs, you can download a fresh copy from this MSFT link.

Thanks a lot! After I type sfc /scannow in Admin Command Prompt ,it tells me "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them." It seems to successfully solved my problem. I will test for some times.

    Hi Xies,

The error code 0xc000012f means the DLL is corrupt. Can you upload your CBS log? It's located at C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

Also, type winver.exe and post back the OS/build info.
