Monitor Is Stuck In Power Saving Mode, But PC Is Running.

Hello.

So some time ago I faced a problem, when my monitor went power saving mode, and not showing anything from PC.

I still can use this PC, because I found a trick to get around it, but I really want to fix this problem.

Here's how everything goes:

Monitor is in Power Saving Mode. When I turn the PC on, it still stays in that mode. If I restart monitor, it goes in power saving mode. PC works fine and has no problem, but still it's one also big problem (but not about performance).

My monitor's resolution is 1024 x 768. Before getting in that problem, nothing was wrong and even with that resolution everything looked fine and had perfect size and so, but after I got the issue, everything scaled up. It feels like instead of 1024 x 768, I'm having 800 x 600 but in reality it's set to 1024 x 768.

I googled this problem already, but only fix I found was to change CMOS battery and clear slots of RAM and GPU.

I did all of the fixes like changed CMOS battery, cleaned ports for not only RAM and GPU but for everything, but still no result. Even though I'm not having any progress.

Here's the video link for everyone helping me to get better view of what's going on: https://youtu.be/770cd3mDnRI

    Hi,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having trouble waking up the display.

I noticed in the video you pressed Ctrl+Shift+Win+B to wake up the monitor. This key sequence actually Restarts the Graphics Driver.

This means that the problem with your monitor not being able to wake from sleep in a timely manner is with the Display Driver or Graphics Card.

All we need to do at this point is to check the display driver and which of the graphics cards are experiencing the problem.

The display driver is relatively easy to replace, so let's start with it. The first thing to do is to uninstall the driver currently in use, use an older version of the display driver or even the factory version.

It is recommended to uninstall the driver in the control panel: press Win+R to call up the run window, enter control and run, click "Uninstall a program" at the bottom of the Control Panel, find your display driver and double-click to uninstall.

After uninstalling, you need to restart the computer to complete the complete removal of the driver, and then reinstall the other version of the driver.

If you still have trouble waking up after changing drivers, try again.

If replacing many versions of the display driver still doesn't solve the problem, then maybe we need to check the graphics card.

The graphics card problem is more difficult to judge. If your computer is using a processor with integrated graphics card, you can try to pull out the graphics card for comparison.

You can also try going into safe mode to see if the problem occurs in Safe Mode as well.

The method to enter safe mode is: hold down Shift on the lock screen interface, and click the Power Option on the screen - Restart.

In the next interface, select Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Startup Settings - Restart - Press 5 or F5

Also, here are some question-related links, and you can also follow these links to guide you for self-service troubleshooting.

Updates on how things are going are welcome.

Does your computer have integrated graphics? If your processor has a graphics card, then try disabling the discrete graphics card or even unplugging the discrete graphics card.

Then see if you encounter this problem with integrated graphics.

Press Win+X and select Device Manager - Display Adapters - Select Discrete Graphics - Right click and select Disable.

    Then restart the computer.

Unfortunately, reinstalling display drivers didn't work.

I'm not really sure if there's any problem with drivers.

I just recently reinstalled windows 10(still had this issue before reinstalling windows), but nothing changed.

So I tried launching my PC with integraded graphics, and it did work.

It turned on normally without going power saving mode.

So problem might be with graphics card?

Also I still have that scaled up resolution problem even when using integraded graphics.

We re-checked the video you posted and we noticed that in the video you adjusted the screen refresh rate to 75Hz, does your monitor natively support this refresh rate?
