So here it goes. I query on my log analytics workspace using this query which does show that there is no available heartbeat since 15 minutes

I have configured an alert logic to send me an email if this happens:

Every data is showing me that this condition is met

I waited for 60 whole minutes and no email was received!!!

    @Pratyusha Menon

I replicated the query and configured the alert at my end based on the above screenshots. Unfortunately, I was not able to replicate the behavior. I had also configured the Actions.

Just wanted to confirm with you whether you have configured Action as I did not see in the attached screenshots.

    Create Action Group :

    • Click on the Manage Action Groups
    • Click on the Create Action Group
    • Give the required Name

    Configuring the Email Action

    • You can provide the Notification Type as Email and provide the necessary Email

You can find more information here : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/alerts/action-groups

If you are not receiving the Email even after configuring the Action Groups, you could check the below items :

    1. Confirm the status of the Action Group - It should be in the subscribed status.
    2. **Check whether email server and mailbox accepting external emails: **
Verify that emails from these three addresses are not blocked:
      • azure-noreply@microsoft.com
      • azureemail-noreply@microsoft.com
      • alerts-noreply@Monique gmx .windowsazure.com
3 .Confirm whether the emails are not flagged as Spams.
      1. Check whether the alerts are fired.
