RDP Web Portal 2 out of 3 monitors

Hello,

I remote into work from my local comp over a web portal using RDP. I have 3 monitors locally, all of which are 1920x1080 res. They are stacked as two on bottom and one on top in the middle of the two.

I am trying to set it up so that when i remote in, my 2 bottom monitors are used full screen and the 3rd top monitor stays showing local.

Connecting the way i do, i don't get RDP options on connection, so i can't change the .rdp file. I also can't check or uncheck the option to use all monitors since that window doesn't pop up on connection. I also can not download anything to my work comp.

I have tried changing the group policy, "Computer Configuration\Administrative templates\windows components\remote desktop services\remote desktop session host\remote session environment\limit number of monitors" to 2 on both my local comp and my work comp but no luck.

Strangely, when i change it to 3 on my work comp, it uses all three monitors, but when i change it to 2, it only uses one monitor.

I have tried doing some research on this and can't find an answer to this specific need that works. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Always every time you use the Remote Web portal to your server and click to initiate a RDP session, it could downloads an RDP file to your default downloads folder, then runs it.
It's entirely valid to save the most recent RDP and re-use it indefinitely and skip the web portal for future sessions. This allows you to use custom settings right at your client level.
Once you've saved off that RDP file, you can right click it and select Edit. Go to the Display tab and UNselect "Use all my monitors" then Re-select it.
Some information below may helpful to you.
