SCCM Distribtuion Point 2019 Server Not Installing

Question

It seems I face this issue just about every single time I have to create a distribution point. It always seems SOMETHING will go wrong. Something goes a miss. I do the SAME install every time and get different results. Sometimes it works other times it doesn't.

Someone please save me from the nightmare that is SCCM.

All I want to do is install a distribution point on a 2019 Server.
I've added the site servers system account to the admin group on the new box.
I've added the setup to the site server.

I just get error upon error about no permisisons. Errors about WMI failing.

The server is on the same network as the Site server. It should just WORK....

So now I ask. Is there something different again about installing. Has something broken from a recent update?

It's so hard to track down answers. I've been waiting for this install for 8 hours.

Are there prereqs that I don't install like they should because it's 2019 server?

Documents don't reveal this.

I got it installed. I'm still a little confused on the process since the documentation is in different locations.

Firewall maybe.
prerequisite software possible as well

I basically installed prereqs and dropped the firewall to get it installed. I turned the firewall back on after.

Did you blank on the WAN Optimizer stuff? Once the DP is excluded everything installs as it should.

Yeah it's not a firewall or wan optimizer thing.

So far I'm seeing that maybe installing Remote Differential Compression prior to using the Distribution Point creation wizard might help.

You know you read on Microsoft web site what's needed and they don't say anything. Is it really that hard Microsoft to ensure your documents are in order?

I just need to wait a few HOURS before I find out if anything worked this time.
