Microsoft Teams SMS confirmation code not working

In order to use Microsoft Teams we're required to confirm a mobile phone number, and the confirmation codes being sent are not working.

When signing up for Teams using my Microsoft account, we are required to provide a phone number for verification. The verification code arrives via SMS, but when the code is entered into Teams it's not recognised.

There are no other options to proceed.

I've made several attempts myself, and have also confirmed that the same issue is occurring for at least two others, all of us from completely unrelated workplaces. The issue is therefore not unique to one individual or workplace's account, but an error with Microsoft Teams - and seems to be preventing any new users from using the app.

    I did this and it worked...
    Could you try going to https://account.live.com/names/manage and add your phone number as an alias? This has worked according to some users.
