Federation issue with One domain

Dear Teams Support ,

I facing one issue , i have added one domain in my external list and they are using island mode seems

am using teams only mode. when ever i tried one user to chat , when she on offline the message is not deliver

but i can able to chat when the user is online

any issue interoperability mode.

can u give the clarity on this behaviour

I reproduced the steps as yours with the same scenario. The result is the same as yours. It seems by design because there are many interactive limitations between Teams and Skype for Business client.

I checked the offline message feature for the user who is in Islands mode. It is enabled.

I will confirm if this is by design. Any update I will share with you.
