Not able to export or import files when debugging through Visual Studio

Hi,

I have a project built in WPF ( Visual Studio 2019). I have functionalities to save and open files from the file system. However, I noticed that none of the functionalities work where interaction with the file system happens. This happens mainly when I try to run from Visual Studio.
On the other hand, if I just double-click my exe from the output path, I don't face this issue.

Can anyone suggest is it because of any Visual Studio account permission. How to solve it?

Thanks,
Divya

Can you elaborate on the following as it's vague in what you mean?

However, I noticed that none of the functionalities work where interaction with the file system happens.

To explain more, I am using Open Dialogs to save files to the file system and vice-versa. When I run my application through Visual Studio, it hangs. After selecting a file from the file system to open, nothing happens further. However, double-clicking the exe from the Debug folder allows me to get the expected result.

Hi @DivyaBalakrishnan-5392 , welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. Does this issue appear both under Start Without Debugging and Start Debugging? Have you installed some third-party extensions? If yes, please try to disable them temporarily and run it in Visual Studio again.
