We have customers that uses IE11 and now checking to move to Edge with IE Compatibility Mode.
For both browsers we have extensions that load our application (WalkMe) but it seems that in Edge IE Compatibility Mode the Edge extension is not triggered for such sites.

Do Edge plan to support and run its extension on sites with IECM?
This is blocker for our users to onboard the IECM in Edge as our extension is currently not supported in that browser.

    Hi @Dvir Cooper

From this doc, we can see that IE mode supports ActiveX controls (such as Java or Silverlight) and Browser Helper Objects, so it supports IE add-ons.

IE mode also supports Microsoft Edge extensions (Extensions that interact with the IE page content directly are not supported.). I guess that your Edge extension interacts directly with the page content, so it doesn't work in IE mode. IE mode uses the Trident MSHTML engine from Internet Explorer 11, some methods called by the Edge extension will be incompatible with IE. That's why we can't use some Edge extensions in IE mode.

I suggest that you can use IE add-ons in IE mode. Besides, you can also provide your feedback to Edge team by pressing Alt+Shift+I in Edge browser.

The recommendation is to help focus on supporting websites for the Microsoft Edge and modern standards instead of using the IE mode. If you are the website owner, then you may work to make the website ready for the Microsoft Edge.
IE Mode is there for backward compatibility only and it supports IE extensions like ActiveX.
In case, this is an important requirement, make sure share a feedback using the Feedback option in the Microsoft Edge and explain your business requirement.
