What Failed: 'IntcOED.sys' Stop Code: Driver Unloaded without cancelling pending operations

Hello,

After having Windows 10 update to Windows 11 in Dec2021, i am facing this issue.

> What Failed: 'IntcOED.sys'

> Stop Code: Driver Unloaded without cancelling pending operations

Have tried some solutions like, (each time in sequence):

  1. Troubleshoot, Startup repair, Uninstall recent feature update
  2. Windows driver update (x3)
  3. CMD: SFC Scan 100% complete, windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation.
  4. Misc available updates
  5. Bios update

But the problem persists, please advise what i am missing. I am a beginner and elaborate guidance would help.

(PS: This stop code pops up every time i bring it up from sleep mode.)

Thanks, 🍻

Jacky

    Hi,

Just to let you know if it can help.

    I had the same problem. I have a Dell G3 3500 (i7-10750H, Ge force RTX 2060).

I upgraded the OS to Windows 11, and after an automatic update, I had the intcoed.sys BSOD every 2 or 3 days when the computer exit from sleep.

I tried a lot of things in the past few months, (Reinstall the audio driver, SFC scan, and all tricks I found on the internet, including completely reinstall Windows 11), but the problem was still there.

I went on https://www.intel.ca/content/www/ca/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html, (It's the Canadian version website, otherwise, here the US version: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18002/intel-driver-support-assistant.html) and update my drivers with the Intel assistant. I think there is something wrong with the driver provided my Microsoft update or directly on the Dell website.

No more blue screen and I did that a few months ago.

Hope it will help you, this problem was a real puzzle for me.

EDIT: I fixed this myself, so the issue was because of "IntcOED.sys" this has to do with Intel's Smart Sound Technology (SST), so what I did to resolve it is simply uninstall the driver, I attempted to uninstall and reinstall, and it did not fix the issue, but I uninstalled it without reinstalling and that seemed to be a more permanent fix and havent had any more blue screens. Hope this helps someone who has this issue in the future.
