I am having the same problem it doesn't install. I have tried so many times
2021-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5008215) FAILS to install.
I cannot even install this update and it fails to install every time I attempt downloading this update. I get this error message every time I try to update, "Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80073712).
I have tried everything to resolve it and nothing has worked. I have run SFC, DISM, DSCK, tried to repair my system files, run the windows update trouble shooter and the problem continues to persist.

2021-12-22T00:38:50+00:00 Every thing I have tried from independent volunteer techs here on theses forums, Microsoft techs online chat and tech website walkthroughs to fix this problem and nothing has worked. Got tired of getting the same information to fix this issue over and over again I had already tired and still didn't resolve or fix this problem. I finally gave up out of frustration, futility and tech's who like to toot their own horns at how good they are but all their information didn't fix it and the problem just persist. I'm pissed off, angry and upset because this shouldn't happen on a brand new desktop that came preinstalled with Windows 11.
I absolutely convinced the issue is on Microsoft's side. They screwed up this update for Windows 11 users.
I'm done.
