What is required to have enterprise office templates to appear when create an office file on my desktop?

We have a user request to make corporate office template available for selection when creating a document on desktop. we followed steps in this video to set it up:

But after about 24 hours it does not seem to work as when I create say a powerpoint document, while the Org-asset library has a Potx (powerpoint template) , nothing shows up in my PPT template panel.

Just wonder, is there special requirement in terms of office version /type, that will make this template available for selection?

    You could go to File > Account > Product Information, check the App version.
