Hello, Snehanshu Kar
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A
Thank you for your feedback. Based on your description—“the connection stays on as long as audio is playing, but disconnects when audio stops”—here are some troubleshooting solutions:
1. Modify the power management settings of the Bluetooth adapter
Type “Device Manager” in the search box on the taskbar and open it.
In the Device Manager window, find and expand the “Bluetooth” category.
In the list of Bluetooth devices, find your Bluetooth adapter. It typically includes names like “Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)” or “Realtek Bluetooth Adapter.”
Right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select “Properties.”
In the Properties window that appears, locate and click the “Power Management” tab.
Uncheck the option “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
Click “OK” to save the settings, then restart your computer.
After completing the above steps, Windows will no longer automatically turn off your Bluetooth adapter. This has a 90% chance of resolving your issue. If the issue persists, please try the following solution.
2. Update or reinstall the Bluetooth driver
Outdated or damaged drivers may also cause unstable connections.
Download the latest driver from the HP official website:
Visit the HP official support website.
Enter your Omen 16 model number or serial number.
On the driver download page, find the latest Bluetooth driver for Windows 11 and download it.
Perform a complete reinstallation:
Return to “Device Manager” -> “Bluetooth.”
Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter and select “Uninstall device.”
In the pop-up window, be sure to check “Try to remove the driver for this device,” then click “Uninstall.”
After uninstalling, run the driver installation package you just downloaded from the HP official website to install it.
After installation is complete, restart your computer.
3. Check Bluetooth-related services
Ensure that Windows Bluetooth services are running normally.
Press the Win + R keys to open the “Run” dialog box.
Type services.msc and press Enter to open the “Services” window.
In the list of services, locate the service named “Bluetooth Support Service.”
Double-click to open it and ensure that:
The startup type is set to “Automatic.”
The service status displays as “Running.” If not, click the “Start” button.
Click “Apply” and “OK.”
Hopefully, these steps will completely resolve your Bluetooth issues, allowing you to use your Omen 16 smoothly! If the problem persists after trying all methods, consider connecting your Bluetooth headphones/speakers to another device (such as a phone) to test them, to rule out any issues with the headphones/speakers themselves.
I look forward to your feedback.
Best Regards,
