My laptop was shut down during the download of the repair version update for Windows 11. Upon resuming, it fails to start properly, and now the download is stuck at 0%. The option to "Download & Install" is also frozen. Assistance is requested to resolve this issue.

    Hello Aryan,

    Thank you for providing an information about the problem, you can check this step;

Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection

A stable internet connection is essential for downloading updates.

    Restart your router or modem.

Connect to a wired Ethernet connection if possible.

If using Wi-Fi, ensure you're close to the router and not on a metered connection.

Step 2: Pause and Resume Windows Updates

This can refresh the update process.

    Open Settings (Win + I).

    Go to Windows Update.

Click Pause updates for 1 week.

    Restart your laptop.

Go back to Windows Update and click Resume updates.

Step 3: Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter

This tool automatically detects and fixes common update issues.

    Open Settings.

Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.

Find Windows Update and click Run.

Follow the on-screen instructions and apply any fixes it suggests.

Step 4: Restart Windows Update Services

This ensures the services responsible for updates are running properly.

Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

In the Services window, find and restart the following:

    Windows Update

    Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)

    Right-click each service > Restart.

Step 5: Clear Windows Update Cache

This removes corrupted update files and forces Windows to re-download them.

    Open Command Prompt as Administrator:

Press Win, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and choose Run as administrator.

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop bits

    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start bits

Close the Command Prompt and restart your laptop.

Step 6: Free Up Disk Space

Windows updates require sufficient space to install.

Open Settings > System > Storage.

Click Temporary files and delete unnecessary files.

Uninstall unused apps or move large files to an external drive.

Step 7: Disable Antivirus or VPN Temporarily

Security software can interfere with updates.

Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall.

If you're using a VPN, disconnect it.

    Try downloading the update again.

Step 8: Manually Download the Update

If all else fails, manually install the update.

    Visit the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Search for the specific update version (e.g., KBxxxxxxx).

Download the correct version for your system (x64 or ARM).

Run the installer and follow the prompts.

Please let me know if it works. I await your response.

    Warm regards,
