Ive just bought a microphone (Microphone Trust Mico, Vaxiuja, USB&3.5mm) and my laptop doesnt want to recognize it. When i plug it in, nothing happens, it doesnt even appear in my devices. my laptop is a lenovo ideapad, quite old if you ask me, but that shouldnt matter. ive had my brother try to connect it to his computer and his worked, is it a problem with my laptop?

    Hello,

Are you saying the mic is not recognized whether you use the USB or the 3.5mm port ?

For the 3.5mm port, did you make sure it is the input port, not the output port ?

Hold down Windows + R keys, type in mmsys.cpl and hit enter. Then go to the Recording tab. Do you see the Microphone? If so, please make sure it is not disable (you can right click to enable it). Also make sure it is set as default device. Then double click on the microphone, go to Levels tab, make sure it is not muted.

Go to Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone, make sure allow apps access is turned on.

Otherwise, type msinfo32.exe in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, then share a screenshot of the pop up please.

Make sure to update audio drivers to latest version, see if that helps.

Here is the driver from Lenovo's website for your device: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/310-15abr/80st/downloads/ds120278-conexant-audio-driver-for-windows-10-64-bit-ideapad-310-15abr?category=Audio

Please download and install. See if it makes any difference.

Note: This is not Microsoft website/URL, but it is the official OEM/manufacturer site.
