Microsoft Teams (Free) Trial Ending?

Hello,

I just received an email stating that my Microsoft Teams (Free) Trial would be expiring soon. Can you explain why I even have a trial period considering I am using the free version? What happens when this trial ends?

    (so @admins, you might want to merge threads?).

    tl;dr: I had a support case open regarding this issue and the Microsoft person said that "Teams free" is currently not available and the advertisement is outdated, Teams free is actually just available as test version and will expire. This is very disappointing and I think Microsoft should reach us a hand in fulfilling their promise made on official Microsoft pages.

    And no: the mail is not a scam. It is officially from Microsoft. The Support persons confirmed and also the mail headers seem valid. (screen shot below, mail text in German) 

    Also if I log in to the admin portal it looks like this:

    Everyone affected: You can extend the trial by 30 days when you add a payment method. It won't be charged (as far as I can tell as of today), which I already did before I took this screen shot (which is why the dates from the mail and the portal differ).

    I'm having the exact same issue and I received the same email as you posted Ryan. My MICROSOFT TEAMS (FREE) is expiring on April 21, 2021 after 3 months. I signed up for the free teams version as well.

    I got the same problem too, and I am afraid my Teams (free) community will be deleted entirely.

    Hi support, could you look into my account as well? And let me know the next steps?

    Hello celso,

    This did not solve my problem. I am an individual user and use teams for personal use, I am not connected to any admin system.
