Importing HTML objects into PowerPoint

Hello,

I have created an HTML element that displays a rotateable rendering of a product. The file type is an HTML and references a folder of images. I am trying to see if there is some way to integrate this into Powerpoint as a standalone element. My other solution would be to create a video file and input that. But It would be very useful to have this HTML element in the presentation.

On another note, does anyone know the best way to import a 3d model from Solidworks into powerpoint? OBJ and FBS files failed for me. Is there a specific file size cap?

Thank you for all the readers, repliers, and passersby's.

    Akiva,

Thank you for replying to my post. The instructions you gave were what I have been doing on my end. I did not know about the link checkbox that is good info. Unfortunately with both the "link" and "show as icon" checkboxes unchecked, all that displays in my presentation is an icon for Google Chrome and the text to the link. no matter which way I import the object I get either the icon or nothing.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi, Sean_3

    I am Akiva independent advisor

When you insert an object into a PowerPoint slide, PowerPoint creates a graphic link to the object. You can double click on the link during the presentation to see the object in its native program. HTML files are objects supported in PowerPoint, so you can use the "Insert object" function to link to a web page document on your hard drive.

    Step 1

Run Microsoft PowerPoint and open the presentation to which you want to add the HTML object.

    Step 2

Browse to the slide you want and click on the location where you want to place the object.

    Step 3

Click on the "Insert" tab on the ribbon and click on the "object" icon.

    Step 4

Click "Create from file," then "Browse," and search for the HTML file on your hard drive. Click "OK" when you have selected the desired HTML file.

    Step 5

Check the "Link" box if you do not want the file to be embedded in the PowerPoint document. If you do not check this box, the current version of the HTML file will be saved as part of the PPTX document. You should not check this box if you are going to show the presentation on another computer.

    Step 6

Mark the "Show as icon" checkbox if you want the slide to display an HTML icon. If you don't check this box, an image of the HTML file will be seen in your presentation.

    Step 7

Click "Accept" to insert the HTML object into your presentation.

    Step 8

Click on the HTML object icon or thumbnail preview, and then click and drag the anchors at the edges of the image to resize it to your liking.

    I hope it helps

PowerPoint isn't a web browser and can't render HTML the way a web browser can. Here's a download of Microsoft's 3D Content Guidelines for PowerPoint: 3D Content Guidelines for Microsoft
