Audio disruption on Teams video call

The problem we are having is that when I try to speak to the group in a Teams video call, I am told that my audio is distorted and unintelligible. At first I thought the problem might be with the microphone on my Bluetooth headset, but after trying two other headsets and even using the built-in microphone on my laptop, the problem persists. How do I fix this?

    Hi Kyle,

As you mentioned that your audio is distorted, and you cannot speak at the end. Do you mean that the participants of the video call can hear you but not clearly at first and cannot hear what you speak at the end?

If so, to narrow down this issue, I suggest you switch to another faster network environment and try again to check if the issue persists.

In addition, if you’re using the desktop version of Teams, you can check if the issue occurs in the web-based Teams app as well.

    Regards,

    Huni

As far as I know, audio is being transmitted, but it is garbled, unintelligible and irritating. The quality and volume seems to be consistent during my attempts to speak.

Changing networks is not a viable option at this time.

I will attempt to (a) disable the video and (b) try the browser version to see if that makes any difference. Please allow 24-36 hours.

Some progress has been made. There were some unforeseen issues with using the browser version of Teams, but the act of disabling the video seemed to allow enough bandwidth for my audio. I am not sure how long this temporary solution will be effective as there continues to be some unexpected behaviors with getting the intended microphone to work and I had to switch to the built in microphone of the laptop (which has on previous occasions been unpredictable in working with teleconferencing in teams). Do you have any further recommendations?

    Hi Kyle,

Do you mean that this issue only occur in the Teams web app? If so, you can try to clear the cache of your browser and see if it helps.

In addition, if there are some improvements after release enough bandwidth, you can try to connect to a faster WiFi and have a try to check if the issue persists.

    Best Regards,

    Huni
