Hello.

Is there anyone facing the below issue and could you share how to resolve it?

A user shared two files each formated pdf, pptx through drag & drop in Teams Chat.

A file in pdf format, however, is missing and cannot access to it.

and A user cannot find the pdf file in Ondrive Microsoft Teams Chat Files Folder and Recycle bin & second Recycle bin as well.

The file supposed to be in Microsoft Teams Chat Files Folder in OneDrive, As the file shared through drag & drop.

Even worse, Audit logs do not contain any sign of sharing and access activities of those two files.

If anyone has experienced this issue, please share how to resolve it.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Jinsam! My name is Abdullah, and I will assist you today.

Your concern is duly noted. By recycle bin, did you mean you checked the recycle bin of OneDrive? If not, please refer to the "Recover a deleted channel file

" part of the below article and recover the missing file:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dele...

    Thank you.

    Best,

    Abdullah

    Hi Jinsam,

    Thank you for the conformation.

May I confirm if you have followed the below steps and still couldn't recover the missing files?

    1. Open the channel's Files tab and select Open in SharePoint at the top of the page.
    2. In SharePoint, select Recycle bin on the left side of the page.

This will show a list of all files deleted from every channel in the team.

    1. Select the file (or files) you want to recover and then select Restore at the top of the page.

    Thank you.

    Hello Abdullah!

I am afraid to tell you that this issue was not SharePoint oriented.

As the file shared through 1:1 chat and Drag & Drop method, SharePoint was not related.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hi Jinsam,

    Thank you for the reply.

I see. If it was a 1:1 drag-drop and the file(s) in question cannot be found, you will need to seek assistance from your IT admins so that they assist you accordingly. If they couldn't help, they could raise a ticket via the admin portal since you are using an organizational account and the support should be able to help you.

    Thank you.
